I provide supportive and empowering commentary on your writing.
Have you gotten so deep into your research that you can no longer see the forest for the trees? Have you written your manuscript and are now wondering if it all fits together or whether it will make sense to your readers? I help academic authors navigate these stages of writing through developmental editing—helping them hone their arguments by providing clarifying, supportive, and empowering commentary on their academic writing.
Developmental editing differs from peer review in one primary function—support. Rather than focusing on identifying misuses of theoretical application, listing missing citations, or even trying to change an author’s argument, as often happens in peer review, developmental editing helps authors hone the argument they want to make, identifying areas of strength and building upon them for revisions.
As an author, editor, peer reviewer, and teacher of writing, I love every stage of the writing process, even when I hate it. It is my mission to help writers push through the tough parts to achieve their writing goals by providing clear and executable feedback on their work.
